This unit provides service to all the patients who are referred to the center for problems such as hirsutism, milia, skin tags, trichoepithelioma, syringoma, dermatitis papulosa nigra....etc.

Patients who complain of hirsutism are first referred to the endocrinology department for clinical evaluation and for hormonal profile study. Thereafter, they are treated in the unit with electrolysis.

Future plan: We will have extra services offered by our unit. Also, some of the newly ordered Laser machines will be implemented in the Cosmetic Dermatology Unit and will keep the old Laser machines used for treatment of pigmented skin disorders (Q-Switched Alexandrite and Q-Switched Ruby) in the Phototherapy Unit. 

The following new services will be available in Cosmetic Dermatology Unit soon:

(I) Hyperhidrosis clinic: we have two Fisher galvanic units and we can offer 3 days per week treatments. Suggested days are Saturday-Monday-Wednesday. The plan to start clinic when Botox meterial is available. The clinic will be supervised by Dr Meshal Al-Ghareeb (Senior Registrar) and Dr Ibrahim Al-Aradi (Senior Registrar). There will be one trained nurse to deliver and adjust the treatment with supervision of the working doctors.

(II) Vascular lesions clinic: we will receive intense pulse light (IPL) machines to be used:

·        SR machine for superficial lesions (IPL)

·        DL machine for deep lesions (Nd:YAG laser)

 (III) Relume pigmentation photo therapy system is used to repigment hypopigmented lesions other than vitiligo.

 (IV) Clear light acne photo clearing system will be used for limited and indicated cases.

The working schedule in the unit will be as follows:

Monday clinic will offer consultation for the Hyperhidrosis, vascular lesions and hypopigmented lesions other than vitiligo. On the following sequence:

• First Monday of the month is for consultation of hirsutism and Hyperhidrosis.

• Second Monday of the month is for treatment with IPL and Nd: YAG.

• Third Monday of the month is for consultation of vascular lesions and hypopigmentation.

• Fourth Monday of the month is for treatment with IPL, Nd: YAG, Relume and Clear light acne photo clearing system.

This clinic will be run by Dr Meshal Al-Ghareeb till other Drs will have enough training using the above mentioned machines.
